  1. Here is the crafting exercise: you will need to have 1/8”x2” x 30” steel sheet stock ((available at Home Depot)-a drill press to have straight holes-a grinder to cut and shape the tensioner supports, and if possible a bench grinder because you will need to grind down slightly two of the factory components to fit the new installation

  2. Detach the seat belt receptacle and tensioner shroud (plastic) which has two Phillips screws from each seat.

  3. This will reveal the bolt holding the whole assembly onto the seat frame. Remove this bolt carefully-but note the sequence of the assembly on the factory seat-suggest you take a picture with your phone for reference. Set these parts aside in two bags marked for which seat it was taken from. You will replace the bolt and nut on the new seats with one of the same size -again with a stop nut. A trip to the hardware store again!

  4. Cut the steel sheet stock in half. Now take the template which you can download from an email I can send you -my email is malattyco@aol.com-and lay it out on the steel sheet stock -(you will need two copies) tape it in place and use a center punch to mark the place to drill the holes per the template. Before drilling or cutting lay the plastic shroud on the steel to make sure everything and the screw holes in the shroud line up with the marked hole points and the curved ends of the shroud (Sometimes Ram changes shapes of these as models progress) see installed finished support picture #4 above

  5. Now drill the holes in each piece of steel sheet stock per the template. see photo 5 above

  6. Use the grinder/cutting tool to cut the steel sheet for each seat belt tensioner carrier to the shroud profile you have marked on it ! Mark sure you bevel the sharp edges.

  7. Here is the slightly technical part-it is not difficult if you have access to a grinder/cutter or a bench grinder wheel.

  8. The stabilizer/retainer has two small alignment nipples that need to fit into holes drilled in the steel tensioner carrier that you have fabricated-so this is important

  9. There is a tensioner stabilizer on the original seat -see photo #9 a above. It needs to be ground down on the J end of the stabilizer by 1/8 to 1/4” -you will need to fit this by trial and error until it fits with the tensioner carrier and is solidly fit against the “H” bracket seat belt attachment point.

  10. Once the stabilizer has been ground down and adjusted, assemble the seat belt tensioner carrier that you fabricated with the stabilizer and the seat belt receptacle and bolt it to the “H” bracket attachment point on the INSIDE of the seat. See photo 10 for completed assembly.
