#2- Before you start in on this project:

  1. You need to be handy with tools and adaptation and wiring!

  2. You will need access to a drill press-not a lot but for 4- holes for sure and maybe enlarge ment of up to 8 more

  3. The old seats will not be re-saleable as you will take out three components- tearing them apart

  4. Be prepared to buy all new bolts to fasten the seat H bracket to the pedestal.

  5. You will need to buy two small turnbuckles from Home Depot for connecting the seat slide lever to the slide-the diagram and suggestion from the manufacturer of the seats is worthless-be aware the slide levers flex-but they work -the turnbuckle allows adjustment. (Discussed in a later Blog about seat mounting.) Also the springs in the slides on my seats were installed on the wrong end and I had to move them to the other end so the slides would work at all-fortunately the reverse holes for mounting were already in place. Will discuss later.

  6. You will need some other miscellaneous nuts and bolts from hardware. Small and large.

  7. You need access to a grinder to cut and adapt two seat belt receptacle holder and tensioner brackets.

  8. You will need approximately 30” of 1/8”x2” steel stock for the new bracket for the tensioner-and the grinder to cut it with curves at each end.

  9. 7 and 8 above are the most time consuming tasks.

  10. You will need about 8’ of red multi strand # 12 wire and 3’ of white multi strand wire, #12 and a fuse tap with a 10am fuse from Autozone and quick connector and spade connectors and crimping tool
